Why is Kalki Koechlin miffed?

Kalki who looks like a calm and cool chick lost her cool at a fashion show! Read on to know why

Rumors about Kalki Koechlin’s failing marriage with Anurag Kashyap have created quite a buzz. Recently, at Glamour Style Week 2013, Kalki was supposed to walk the ramp. It was reported that designers Riddhi and Siddhi taunted her and called her a ‘mentally disturbed’ woman!
Apparently, the designers were ‘disgusted’ with Kalki’s antics and they pinned the blame on her marriage which has gone kaput due to Anurag’s fondness for Huma Qureshi. As Kalki didn’t get to give her side of the story, she took to the social networking sites to vent out her frustration at the designer duo.
Kalki tweeted, “After a 4hour wait in lehenga, jewellery make up they have the gall to call me mentally disturbed! Riddhi Siddhi, dp designers shame on you! Not seen a more disorganised show than #glamourstyleweek2013 where the organisers called me off the ramp when I’m the showstopper! No wonder actors turn into divas.”
The Dev D actor didn’t stop till she was calm. In another tweet she said, “That’s the only language some people understand. By the way I am mentally disturbed but its certainly not because of my hubby;).”
Though the Ek Thi Daayan actor took to Twitter, she refused to speak about the matter. She said, “Please speak to my manager as I am working right now. I don’t want to get distracted with this.” Hmmm… Calm down, pretty lady!

Why is Ekta Kapoor playing the blame game?

After blaming Shahrukh Khan and Akshay Kumar for Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbai Dobaara’s failure, it seems that Ekta’s new target is Imran Khan.

First she blamed Shahrukh Khan for the poor box-office response of her film Once Upon Ay Time in Mumbaai Dobaara (OUATIMD). Reportedly, OUATIMD was supposed to release on Eid but after few months it was revealed that Shahrukh Khan and Rohit Shetty will also release Chennai Express on Eid. Ekta agreed to reschedule OUATIMDbut on one condition that the makers of Chennai Express will withdraw the film on August 15 to make way for OUATIMD in at least 2000 halls across the country but that didn’t happened as Chennai Express was doing very good business at the Box Office.
Then the TV moghul’s next target was none other than the lead actor of her own film. Yes, you read it right. Apparently, Balaji head honcho was miffed with Akshay Kumar for not promoting OUATIMD in full swing. Akki’s attitude irked the TV queen.
After SRK and Akki, Ekta has now started blaming Imran Khan who was also a part of OUATIMD. Buzz is that Ekta is having a lot of differences with Imran because the latter did not agree with some of Kapoor’s promotional strategies. We hear that the rift has widened so much that Imran has been replaced by Shahid Kapoor in Ekta’s next production, Milan Talkies, which is being directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia. When Ekta was asked about this replacement, she said, “People have different opinions, and they don’t always need to agree with each other. Milan Talkies needs a certain amount of aggression and push. I’m not commenting on any actor; I find it embarrassing to discuss that.”
Well, Imran Khan isn’t the one to sit quietly and take such jibes. He said, “I feel that talking about this won’t help. Besides, there’s no point speaking about what has happened in the past. Out of respect for Jeetuji, I won’t say anything about this.”
Well, after making SRK, Akshay Kumar and Imran her target, we wonder who would be Ekta’s next target?

Madras Cafe: No show in Tamil Nadu

The film could not make it to theatres in the state

The Hindi and Tamil versions of John Abraham-starrer Madras Cafe were granted a U/A certificate for release, but the political thriller didn’t hit the screens here Friday as theatre owners refused to screen the film following protests by Tamil activists.
The movie had received a green signal by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). But while bookings opened for all other Friday releases in multiplexes, Madras Cafe was not included. The decision to screen or not rests in the hands of individual theatres and multiplexes.
A senior member of The Theatre Owners’ Association, told IANS: “The decision to release the film has been given to individual theatres. Since the government has not banned the film, the theatres are free to screen. But if they feel they might face the wrath of protestors, then we can’t do anything.”
Madras Cafe is set against the Sri Lankan civil war and also depicts the 1991 assassination of former Indian prime minister Rajiv Gandhi. It came under the scanner after Tamil activists alleged that it portrays the LTTE cadres as terrorists.
Multiplexes fear that releasing the film could make matters worse. “We fear releasing the film might aggravate the ongoing protests. We don’t want to risk it and, moreover, the decision to screen the film lies with each theatre,” a multiplex representative, on condition of anonymity, told IANS. Also featuring Nargis Fakhri, Rashi Khanna, Ajay Rathnam and Leena Maria Paul, Madras Cafe is a fictional story inspired by true events.
On Thursday, the Tamil version of Madras Cafe was granted a U/A certificate with no cuts for release in Tamil Nadu.A representative of the movie’s co-producers Viacom18 Motion Pictures said they had also sought police protection to ensure a smooth release of the film.
Co-produced by John Abraham, who is also playing the lead in it, the film was shown here as part of a special preview Aug 18. The objection against the film by protestors grew stronger thereafter. Tamil filmmaker Seeman, head of Naam Tamizhar (We Tamils) group, said the film was “nauseatingly anti-Tamil”.
In a related development, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Tamil Nadu unit chief Pon Radhakrishnan had said the movie should not be released in any part of the country.
